Bachelor project/thesis

The observation of a qualitative downward trend in the board game industry has induced me to work out a redesign of a depraved cult game – the strategy game Risk. The thereby evolved game distinguishes by a special quality in terms of materiality, form and graphic design from the previously published editions and expands the original game concept with innovative game mechanics – a modular game board.
The thesis documents the development of the project from the basic idea to the final implementation and focuses on an argumentative illustration of design decisions. A psychological discourse, which deals with the activity of human play and a detailed analysis of historically relevant board games form the theoretical introduction to the subject.
